I can confirm that you do NOT get Disrupting Chop from Little Thom, Warmaster Grast, or Duke Barradin in KoA, and I'm pretty sure no one else gives you warrior skills (except that first guy you meet once outside the gate -- I don't think he gives Disrupting Chop either).

You do get a hammer skill with knockdown, however. Perhaps a well timed knockdown can interrupt break charm and keep the bear down long enough for the charm to succeed?

I was going by the Skill Listing on this site, supposedly you can get disrupting chop pre-sear, but oh well.

Even with that hammer bash it'll only save you so much time. If you start charming as the bear does brutal maul, you get about 2 seconds, then a warrior could knock the bear down gaining you maybe 2-3 more.

Bah...

Worse comes to worse I'm going to just give up and pick up whatever and go post-sear and find something cool later. I wonder if you can charm the large spiders in the catacombs, hrm?

I'm R/M, but I can't suck away enough energy to keep the bear from break charming.

I thought you could have a moss spider pet, but they're a bit weak I think...I saw some bigarse death spiders or something in the catacombs and figure they'd be better

Maybe the bear doesn't always use break charm? Maybe if you do it eventually he screws it up and you win?

Bah...Well, I'm getting sorta super-antsy about going post-sear, so I think if by the end of tonight I can figure it out I'll charm a warthog or summat...Or a wolf, mebbe...I could name it wolfy...wee
